Meet Pat, The Barber Behind the Studio

How It All Started

I was 14 the first time I picked up a pair of scissors with real intention behind it.

Even then, I could not explain exactly why hair fascinated me the way it did. I just knew it mattered. The way a good cut could change how someone carried themselves. The level of detail involved in getting it right. It stayed in my head and I kept coming back to it.

By 16, I made a decision that surprised most people around me. I left high school and focused on hairdressing full time. At that point I did not even know barbering existed as its own path. I was just drawn to men’s hair and willing to put in the work.

At 19, I moved to Australia. That was when everything started to make sense. I discovered barbering properly and knew straight away this was where I belonged.

From there, I focused on getting better every day. Learning technique, working with different hair types, and building consistency through real clients.

At 26, I opened my own private studio in Springvale. That was the goal I had been working toward for years.

The Work and What I Specialise In

Every cut starts the same way. A conversation. What you want, what has worked before, and what actually suits your hair type and face shape. The cut follows that, not the other way around.

Over time, I have focused on a specific range of styles and refined them through repetition and detail.

Skin fades are what most clients come in for. The blend needs to be clean and consistent every time.

Men’s Haircuts

Modern men’s haircuts tailored to your face shape, hair type, and lifestyle. Clean, wearable, and easy to maintain. Explore men’s haircuts.

Taper fades, including low tapers, are ideal if you want something sharp that still grows out well. See how taper fades are done.

Textured cuts require a different approach. It is about working with how your hair naturally moves and shaping it to suit your hair type. Take a look at textured cuts.

Scissor cuts focus on shape, layering, and control rather than just clipping everything down. Ideal for longer styles and natural movement that grows out properly.

Buzz cuts are simple but require precision to get right. Clean lines, balanced shape, and a proper finish make the difference.

Beard trims are shaped to suit your face and work with your haircut. Clean lines, balanced proportions, and a finish that ties everything together. You can learn more about beard trims.

Perms are becoming more popular again, especially for adding volume and movement. Whether it is a soft wave or more defined texture, the goal is to make styling easier day to day.

Fringe styles and modern looks influenced by Korean trends are in demand. These require careful shaping so they sit naturally and suit your face.

I also offer wolf cuts, kids and teen haircuts, and beard trims for a complete finish. You can view the full list of services. Across all of it, the focus stays the same. Precision, consistency, and making sure the result suits you.

Every Hair Type. No Exceptions.

This is something many clients think about before booking, especially if they have had mixed results in the past.

I have worked across a wide range of hair types. Straight, wavy, curly, thick, fine. Growing up in Malaysia and working in south east Melbourne has exposed me to a broad mix of textures and backgrounds.

Asian hair behaves differently under clippers. The density and growth patterns require a different approach to achieve a clean finish. This is something I work with regularly, not occasionally.

If you have left previous barbers feeling like your hair was not handled properly, that is a common experience. It is also why I take the consultation seriously before every cut.

What the Appointment Actually Looks Like

The studio in Springvale is private and runs by appointment. One client at a time.

1st. We start with a conversation

When you arrive, we talk first. What you want, what your hair does, and what has not worked before.

2nd. The cut follows your brief

The cut is based on that conversation. No guessing, no rushing, just a clear plan and proper execution.

3rd. Your time is yours

There is no waiting and no distractions. The focus is on getting the result right from start to finish.

Why People Keep Making the Trip

Many regular clients do not live in Springvale. They come from Noble Park, Dandenong, Clayton and nearby suburbs across south east Melbourne.

Most of them were looking for consistency. Not just a good result once, but the same result every time they come back.

That is what keeps them coming. A cut that holds up and a process that stays consistent.
